Later a peyote enthusiast, friend of Johnny Cash & Shel Silverstein, this award-winning playwright wrote the lilting MOR hit, "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife," which Glen Campbell took to #32 in '68

Warning: I'm about to be incredibly assumptive.
One of the things I really like about our group's biweekly chats are the twists and turns they take. There's no shortage of field trips, detours, and tangents. An offhand comment about "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife" last week leads us to a deep dive on the songwriter and his own work. Lots of taxonomy on the music 'Stack, and I'm here for it!
Assume away....You are correct, sir (to paraphrase Ed McMahon)! Like most songs/artists/songwriters I do just a personal "Lemme see if I can find something....", figuring only to find a tiny blurb on the Wiki, there's usually a story there, somewhere!
And, with someone like Gantry, whose first introduction was "known for his involvement in the outlaw country field,"-----"I'm sorry, what?!? The guy who wrote "Dreams.....?" I just found that amazing dichotomy too delicious to ignore!
I think it was Stephen who brought up the song, and he and I have had a Grand Canyon's worth of astounding lightning strikes of serendipity, coincidence, providence, luck, etc in all things musical since we've known each other (since Feb)! Quite a few of our off-hand convos have led to articles, in one way or other!
But, thanks, as always, Kevin, for your diligence and support for all things FR&B! Y'know, YOU were my first subbie! In early Aug '21, after I gave comps to two good friends, you were the first "stranger" (and, certainly first fellow 'Stacker) to hop the velvet rope line! Something, I'm hoping, to be proud of! I am!β¨π΅ππ

Ha! No kidding? That's awesome. I'm glad I got in on the ground floor. :)
