Great Story! I have a bit of silly trivia to contribute: Ron Nagle's father was Al Nagle, who wrote country music songs as a hobby. I know this because he used to hire me to transcribe and write out his music! One I liked was called "I Won By Losing You."
"Great story"??! YOURS is a great story! Thanks, Ernie, for the kind words, as well as for a fascinating REALLY behind-the-scenes account! Al Nagle....Al Nagle....Was he the one who also wrote, "I Can't Get Over You, Babe, So Answer the Phone Yourself"?
That's the way we roll Front Row & Backstage! Thanks again, Ernie, and fall by anytime!---Brad
That's a good one, Brad! Don't think Al Nagle wrote that one! But he did write one, where Scott Matthews is credited as well: "Parson Freddie (fleeced his flock)!" (source: US Copyright search)
Gotta thank Dad for "I Can't Get Over You, Babe......."! He must've told us (my bro and me) that one in the '60s when we were pre-teens! Dad had 20,000 LPs and 78s...'tis a wonder bro and I didn't contract PVC poisoning growing up!
BTW, Ernie...remember, the Durocs' Scott Mathews spells his last name with one "t." That might affect searches...although, in this case, I'm sure it was the Durocs' Scott who wrote with Al!
I second that emotion, Kevin! For these guys, though, their respective roads to get to Durocs is what adds extra intrigue and fascination! These weren't just two guys with a dream starting out! They knew exactly what they wanted, and had the studio chops to more than pull it off! Glad you liked. The "Audio Autopsy" pipeline is nowhere near depleted!
