Disco, the ultimate guilty pleasure! I saw the Trammps live when Disco Inferno was making its second trip up the charts (because of Saturday Night Fever). About a thousand people dancing for two hours to the actual bands (I don't remember who the opener was). Fun memories!

Great comment, Charles! Thanks! Guilty pleasure, indeed! Especially, in my opinion, the beginning iteration of the disco era, as displayed here (and, again, IMHO, the Philly gang and product)! I can't even imagine seeing a disco act in concert...I never did it! Never sought 'em out, he said, suitably embarrassed to admit!

I think I was a closet disco digger, and might not have known they toured, and preferred to listen (undercover) to all my disco at home, while just hitting whatever rock acts came to town thru the '70s! You no doubt saw Earl Young with the Trammps. At that point, not sure he was lead singing, or "just" drumming. Color me envious of your disco concert experience(s)!!🕺

I'm pretty sure Earl was still singing but some of the lead vocals were done by a bald dude, don't know his name. Funny, most of my listening those days was proto-metal (like Cream, Purple, Zeppelin) and fusion. Disco was what we partied to!

I didn't know that Archie & Ricky Bell were brothers! That's my kind of bar trivia.

So great to 'meet' a fellow funk head! I was watching McFadden and Whitehead on YouTube just yesterday. I love Soul City Walk, which was played on top of the pops once with the dance troupe Ruby Flipper performing. I've actually been stacking up a few disco songs myself to showcase on my substack. I really like the positive messages: ain't no stopping us now, You can do it (Dobie gray), Try it out (Gino soccio) and London Town (Light of the world). Now where did I put those strobe lights ..

Very cool, Terry! Yep, I'm glad I caught the good stuff as it came out! A Gino Soccio shout-out...impressive! Haven't seen his name in decades! I had (at least) a single by him in the late '70s! Great to have you stop by, Terry, and don't be a strangler (or stranger, for that matter)!🎼🎶🎵
