A great theme. The Level 42 one was and is my favourite. Greatly appreciate your in-depth knowledge of all this.

Thank you, Terry! The good news is I love doing the research to supplement the hard-working genius the songwriters and artists have cobbled together! So, that guarantees there'll be more of the similar to come! Right now, I'm working on dissecting the influencing thread between a Pennsylvanian '60s-era hitmaker and a New Jersey boss-man and one of his mid-'80s songs! Stay tuned!💥😁👍

Well, 'tis much appreciated, Brad.

I like to think I influenced this Audio Autopsy, in that I had stolen (borrowed, rented, leased) your original format to repurpose for the “same song different band” usage. I’m sure you’ve done others like this, but I personally love these comparisons-examinations. There’s “something about them” that just makes me smile. Funnily enough it was the Boston version that I’d forgotten about when seeing the list.

As we do, Steve, great minds think alike! So, let's just say we (as we often do) influenced each other! Nevertheless, the Czech's in the mail....and, he's got cash.

I will say that I had to think twice, and re-visit my cyber "bookshelf" to see if this was an "Inside Tracks" or a "GBE"----but, with no covers, it certainly wasn't an "IT," and with different artists, it becomes a "GBE"! Holy lane-branding, Batman!

While we're on the topic, your current Top 100 songs of '22 is a herculean undertaking (I'll leave a similarly glowing comment on it, shortly!) that I'm just now reading through, and eagerly await the listening part! My sincere compliments and appreciation that you take the time to give some info on each artist!

I'm actually hoping (and wondering), upon your final 25 of the Top 100, if you'll provide the entire 100 on one final Playlist, either in a wrap-up article, or in your final 25 list.

FRONT ROW & BACKSTAGE readers, I know, will appreciate your efforts, Steve! Hey, gang, check out Steve's upscale run-down on the year's Top 100 tunes (with info blurbs on each artist!)...here's the link to his latest, (Part 3, #s 51-75): https://earworm.substack.com/p/best-songs-2022-part-3

If I (or anyone else, for that matter!) misses Level 42 in a discussion about "Something About You" songs, you'd have the right, Mark, to revoke my Pop Snobbery License (and, you know how much I lean and rely on THAT)!😁

I had forgotten about Boston's, and when I stumbled across it a couple weeks ago, I thought, "HEY!"----If two huge acts had huge hits (Boston with an FM album "hit") with a like-titled song, how many more must there be? A "GBE" Edition was born!!

Glad you dig, Mark, and am happy to inhabit a fun'n'fascinating Playlist lane all by myself! Stay tuned!🎵💖😉👍

I realized later that you had mentioned it in your intro so oops.

Ain't no thang, Mark! At first glance, knowing "Something About You" was the focus, the sharp-eared reader would certainly wonder if their fave "SAY" song was represented! What was fun for me, among other things, was finding all the new and recent artists who had "SAY" songs! I'm afraid I may have discovered a couple new favorite artists (what will my classic rock friends say)!😱

Good call, wing, on the SG Lewis track! Had I known about it, I probably would've included it....it would have given a '22 track to the Playlist. Lewis (whom I'd never heard of), I notice, has worked with Nile Rodgers, as has another current EU artist I've grown to love, Roosevelt.

In case you missed it, wing, here's my latest on THAT collab: https://bradkyle.substack.com/p/audio-autopsy-2018-roosevelt-and

Thanks for the tip, too....I may dig into Lewis' career for a future post!💥👍

Like others here, i wondered if Level 42 would make the list. Happily it did! A staple of my clubbing days with the incomparable Doris K...

Like a lot of my Playlists, they're inspired by a key song or two....my anchors. Then, the fun begins with finding other songs, in this case, different songs with identical titles! Yes, I think we've all heard of the incomparable Doris K....her, shall we say, reputation precedes her?!👩👍💃
