Brad, Thank you for another great article and, like debunking the fake moon landing, dispelled the myth as to who's version of "Get It Up For Love" was first to hit lbe recorded. In all seriousness your research was wonderful and I listened to each of the selected version you put up. I had never heard Johnny Rivers' version before. I have a feeling Johnny heard my version and liked the string arrangement so much he used it on his version. That's a compliment to Larry Carlton's arrangement on my version. Really your whole "Inside Track" article is a compliment to Ned Doheny's great song. Through solid journalistic measures the truth has been revealed. Did I win anything than than your admiration?

Wow...color me humbled and honored....thanks so much, Stephen! It was a gas getting lost in the research, especially when we were able to also present the actual LIVED and recorded proof, i.e. the receipts!!

Now, the challenge to finally get the massive boulders of inaccurate web info moved out of the way, so the facts can take their place! As I once heard a 7-year-old say: "The troof is out there!" Now, we have to see it all be put in the right places!

You're right about Johnny's cover...again, YOU laid down the template, so anyone who followed it's safe to assume put needle to vinyl on yours (unless far down the line of covers, there were so many others)! I thought Rivers' guitar line was creative, and the fact that dozens of covers have been made of Ned's flexibly nimble song proves it's a good-un, as they say in Nashville!

I'd love to hear how/why Ned waited so long to lay down HIS arrangement. Ned..................?

My admiration? You had that won the second you said, "Now, who are you again?!" Seriously, you had me when you gave me FAR more than the two minutes of interview time about "that 1974 RCA album" I asked for!!!

Stephen, I know our readers Front Row & Backstage (and even those hanging around the bar) appreciate all the behind-the-scenes and personal stories you've given us!

For our readers who are new to the proceedings, here's Stephen's Flipboard page that harbors ALL his '70s-era, behind-the-scenes, Hollywood rock peeks that exist here on Front Row & Backstage on Substack (with more to come)! https://flipboard.com/@schwartzstories/front-row-backstage-with-stephen-michael-schwartz-fcjpqreoy
