On July 8, 2022, Louise Poynton and I met through the magic of online video call for a podcast interview, all centered around my 1975 interview in Houston with David Cassidy:
That interview was on the eve of David’s first post-”Partridge Family” (4 years ABC musical sitcom + group and solo albums on Bell Records, 1970-1974) solo album for RCA Records, “The Higher They Climb, the Harder They Fall.”
Louise is (and has been) widely known, from her base in the UK, as a key guardian of the David Cassidy legacy, through her David Cassidy Connections website, as well as her highly-regarded podcast series, The David Cassidy Connections.
She’s also the author of the tome-of-choice for David’s many fans, 2020’s Cherish: David Cassidy-A Legacy of Love, available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and wherever quality books are sold. This gorgeous tribute was an award-winning finalist in the American Book Fest Best Book Awards 2020!
Overview of the book: “This stimulating and evocative keepsake volume also features 250 color and black-and-white images, including many previously unseen photographs. Profound, poignant, and deeply moving, Cherish is a celebration of the life of David Cassidy and the legacy of love he left behind.”
It’s under her podcast banner where Louise continues (as she has since 2020) to conduct interviews with those who have been influenced by “David’s music, friendships and how he inspired so many,” as well as those who have worked with David though the decades.
A longtime journalist by trade, Louise explores why he mattered to those who fell in love with his music, far beyond his Partridge Family days: “Musicians and actors,” as she says on her site, “broadcasters and producers remember his professionalism; friends recall David's kindness and laughter.”

That is a good interview.
Your mention of the Beatles, near the end, reminded me a (perhaps apocryphal) comment I've seen attributed to Elvis that, "at least they went through it together" -- saying that they had the advantage of knowing each other when they all went through the experience of crushing fame, whereas Elvis was more alone.
But we'll see what Faith Current has to say about that . . .
Lots of gems in there Brad!! I think that’s one of maybe 3 podcasts I’ve ever listened to all the way through - nicely done!
