A who's-who of rock legends guest on the Stones' first album of original material since 2005, with a production team (average age, 52) that covers the gamut for new and...uh, old fans.
The production on these two songs is stellar -- makes sense you focused on Andrew and Don here (also probably cause only 3 songs are available so far). Even streaming from Spotify, there's a richness and dynamism that I'm not hearing in most other albums. And "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" is glorious. "Angry" is good, but I don't feel it in my whole body the way I do with "SSoH." It does have that "final song of a concert" vibe.
To me, the story IS the production! Sure, the Stones are back, etc, but you can almost see the wheels spinning around the conference table when you see those two superstar producers! Should they tour in any capacity, it'll be interesting to see who they get to handle all the star parts on the record!
I hope you didn't get the FR&B "bends"! I went from the band that the greatest number of people on Earth have NEVER heard, Byzantium, to arguably, the most famous band on the planet, the Stones......in the span of one week! I hope you're OK!!😉🎵
Well... that’s what we’re here for, right? It’s always a music rollercoaster ride with you, and we love every single bit of it! Find me another place like this! Impossible. You are unique, my friend, and I mean it! 😃
Having a listen to Sweet Sounds of Heaven right now!! I have to be sure and listen to it as it’s own entity. It does make it more enjoyable for me that way. Shan’t compare to the rest of the Stones’ Ouvre! Stevie on Rhodes? Gaga, though! Wow!!
Thanks, KW! Hadn't heard "Ghost Town" before, but gotta think it was COVID-propelled. Someone in the comments of the video suggested this might've been an unused song from their vaults, it's so good (sonically, anyway.....maybe not lyrically). If true, another benefit of having several decades of work from which to rifle through!
Loving the track with Lady Gaga - sounds like an outtake from 'Exile on Main Street.'

I need to listen to the track with Stevie and Gaga! Thanks for another great piece, Brad! Informative and entertaining.

Thanks, Andy!👋
Thank you Brad for giving your readers a glimpse into the rich history of music! 🎶 🤗
Certainly my pleasure, Charlotte! So glad you're on board, too!

Good strategies, Britta! Quite a collection of talent!
Good post. My personal favorite is "Living In A Ghost Town" - released in 2020 - presumably as a comment on the pandemic.

I happened to hear the ghostly echo in those early days of 2020. Good for timing.
Not one of my favorite Stone's songs - but good for this album. Let me know if you pinpoint it's origins in their long history.
