Loved their Garfunkel cover (which I think is a studio recording, but still, very nice arrangements), and I enjoyed their "live on radio" clip as well!
Thanks, Andy. I do think Nathan the Younger seemed more consistent, over time...to the point where it seems like he relished that role to really be the foundation. I think his harmonies likely serve as a solid base as Justin can seem more of a melody "renegade" to a degree (and, pitchy too, I guess, on occasion).
I think I've been more amazed at the tonal color their voices share just because of their familial bond! Like The Beach Boys, Everlys and The Jacksons (to pick 3 of many), listening to them harmonize (or even...especially?) in unison, is really magical to hear! Which also makes it stunning when singers, like John and Paul (to pick 2 off the top of me noggin) harmonize so effortlessly and beautifully.
The boys are 3 years apart, and as a little brother whose "big" brother was only 10 months older (we grew up as way more rivals than anything!), I can so relate to Nathan, and kept cheering him on...like, "Yay, look how he supports his big bro! You go, Nate!"
On the other hand, I was impressed by Justin, whom I could tell was so proud of li'l bro, and seemed so grateful to have that brotherly simpatico I always yearned for! Hey....POV, ammirite?😉
As kids, we used to love using those 6 weeks between our birthdays (when we were the same age...and we looked nothing alike!) to meet new people, and when they asked our age, we'd have the same answer! Their usual response: "Oh, you're twins, then?" "No." Every year, on March 18, I'd "reach his age." On May 1, he'd suddenly gain a year in age! (he passed 7 years ago)
When Mom would tell her story of how and why, she used to say 2 things: "The chute was well-greased," and "I found out what caused it, and stopped!" That was our mom....we lovingly called her "a salty broad," which she loved!🤗

Exactly. I agree with everything you say. Melody renegade is exactly what I was thinking as well (but you’ve put it in much nicer terms! 🤣).
It is indeed magical to hear how similar their timbre is and how well their voices blend together!

Totally see what you mean. Keen eye, my friend, keen eye! Crazy your bro and you are only 10 months apart! So close!

This is adorable. Sorry to hear he’s passed. Beautiful family memories. I now understand where your crackling sense of humour comes from!
Had Mom been a stand-up comic, we’d say she was “working blue”!😂Quite a gal!
👏🏻🥰♥️
