Two Texans Tune Tag 'til the cows come home, driving right pasture house! A little rock, a little pop, and most likely, a lot of barbecue to top it all off!
Hey Dee! Good to see you as always. You guys played a pretty decent game of TuneTag today! There were some cool tunes, and names I haven't heard in a while. I'm not sure if Dee knows, but he and I are sober together. I may tell that story someday...Thanks, Brad!
Thanks, Paul! I enjoyed getting to know Dee, and hearing his takes on all the tunes'n'artists! We've gotta get together sometime, as he and I are only about an hour from each other....Dee in the beautiful, woodsy hill country town of Wimberley (about 40 miles SW of my N. Austin manse)!
As you are comfortable, I heartily encourage you to tell your story, Paul! Thanks again!
This was fantastic. I loved all the tracks, particularly the good quality singing which is always my soft spot (or obsession, to be honest π€£).
Some were new to me, some I knew but was glad to be reacquainted with, and what I certainly did not know is how they were all connected.
I loved how you guys went from some folk/country stuff to some very lush R&B vibes, through power pop and more. All done with flawless taste, as one can always expect here!
Thanks, Andy....so glad you dug Dee's and my offerings! It tickles me how folks like you graciously comment, and different songs come up as favorites, and for others, those same songs are new, and become new favorites! That's one of the joys of Tune Tag!
For those of us who've heard her version a lot (I had all her '70s albums at the time), it sounds like a classic! Adding that it was never a single (much less a hit), we made it a hit in our respective bedrooms!
Not sure how many collabs Ned Doheny had with Hamish Stuart, Scottish tams off to these songwriters! Doheny is/was a massively underrated songwriter, despite the fact that several of his songs may be on our personal radars (if not playlists)!ππ
Big fun Brad. After having played TT with you, Iβve considered copying a version of it to our little community radio station here in Wimberley. There are so many Texas artists that interconnect in and through Wimberley.
Wow! Sounds like fun, Dee! Getting together a couple of singer/songwriter types to Tune Tag, live on air (or taped and edited), would really be a special listen, I gotta think! I've always been a proponent of folks playing it off-line, say, in someone's living room during a party....using only the records (or other media) in the host's collection! Keep us posted (and credited)!ππ

You're a good man, Brad! Keep on taggin'!
As long as there's a 'Stack on which to Tag a Tune, we'll be here!π΅πΈπΏπ

Well done, gents!

Yes I did, a lot, and made a note to dive deeper into the respective albums!
One of the many joys of Tune Tag is how it allows us to discover (and, in some cases, re-discover) what we didn't know we needed to hear!
May your stylus stay ever-sharp!ππ
Some great songs in this tag, especially Melissa Manchester's underrated version of "A Love of Your Own," one of my favorites from her vast catalog!
