Two years ago, the "Baton" was passed, and what started out as a cute little parlor game, has quickly evolved into a thoroughly engaging and entertaining weekly tune-trading Tuesday treat: Tune Tag!
I am so proud of you and the incredible Tune Tag journey, and I feel honoured to have been and still be part of that wild ride!
Thank you for giving me the honour to interview you on such a special occasion. What can I say about the final piece? Pure Brad Kyle magic! Fantastic is an understatement.
Here’s to many, many more anniversaries! The best is yet to come, my friend! 😉
It's almost quaint as we view it in hindsight! It's out from behind the paywall, so all can enjoy it here!
Your help, inspiration, and encouragement are, and have been, the high-octane fuel that keeps this vehicle on the road! Happy Tune Taggaversary to all!🎵😁👍🎵
You were the first person to welcome me as a new music writer, Brad, which I've never forgotten. I immediately felt part of the substack music community.
Doing a Tune Tag is great fun, and it's a great learning experience doing all that research, so I highly recommend it. Reading TTs is where I learn about so many artists, groups, and songs.
Wow.....thanks so much, Ellen! That hits right about here:💖That's very kind of you.
As I'm hoping it shows, I have a blast Tune Taggin', too! You're right about finding new music and artists thru Tune Tag....but, what I find satisfying and fun is finding places to put the tried and true....some of our favorite and popular songs and artists....whether I or our guest finds them! That's double-barrelled fun! Thanks again, Ellen! Write on!🤘😁
Sweet interview! Happy Tunnaversary! I'm glad to have been part of a couple of these. One never knows what song Brad will come up with next! I love his own rich history connected to the music. I also love how lost he gets in relation to the 1980s! It's great fun!
Congratulations, Brad! You and Andres were the first to “welcome” me to the greater music writing community here and have introduced me to so many great writers since through Tune Tag.
Thanks, Marty.....that's so great to hear! I know Andres feels the same....he'll be by shortly! As for Tune Tag, that's another of the cool benefits of the process....meeting new friends, as well as hearing new and familiar tunes'n'artists! Thanks again, Marty!
Congratulations on 100 Tune Tags Brad! I always love reading and listening to these (and even participating in a couple myself). Your research is impeccable and your sense of humor is right in my wheelhouse. And with the twists and turns of the tags each week, I never know what’s coming next. Here’s to many more TTs to come! I’ll be popping into your DMs at some point soon for another appearance!
Thanks so much, Andy.....all you folks with your thoughtful recollections of Tune Tag being your introduction to the 'Stack are truly heartwarming and encouraging! I'm sure the Substack front office (including the ever elusive CEO and founder, Murray Substack) are gobsmacked, as well!
Seriously, thank you, Andy....that's very kind of you! Plus, I notice we last Tagged last Thanksgiving, so it's high time we did a Part 2! DM me your first song whenever you'd like!--B😁👍
Congratulations again for this amazing and important milestone, Brad! And awesome idea Andy to interview Brad to celebrate and explore the history and process of Tune Tag! I feel like our world can be defined as BTT and ATT. I hardly remember what life was like before Tune Tag existed; what an empty world that must have been! Glad to have experienced it all and watched it blossom from a baby to an unwieldy teenager! (I think of TT years like dog years.)
Thanks, Steve! It's been great to have had you aboard since the beginning! It just struck me how and why the possible combinations are so limitless, and the Tag can go on forever: The vast amount of recorded music available (and always changing and being added to), and the vastly different "musical upbringings" of all the participants and their varied musical POVs!
For all the "unlimited" and "limitless" things we come across in our daily lives, they always seem to be able to be broken down to a "1 in some huge number" (like lottery chances...."a 1 in a 2,948,761,047,635 chance of winning!"). At some point, however remote, there IS a finite number. Not so with the Tag! Mind-boggling!
Tune Tag, along with your collaborative pieces with Tom Moloney, are among the very first things I saw on substack. And stayed! You are the catalyst for my initial to, and continued involvement with this platform, and I feel both lucky and grateful—thank you, Brad! Fair to say I can finally carry a tune.
Thank you so much, Clint! That's all very humbling, and certainly much appreciated! Tune Tag wouldn't be Tune Tag without the fabulously musical guests that have propelled this little thing along to such a giddily fabulous degree!
Speaking of which, you know you're more than welcome to join the Tune Tag Parade o' Participants, Clint! Just drop me your first tune in DMs, and I can answer any questions you have, too! And, thanks again!😁👍
I have not forgotten the gracious invite, Brad (not likely, lol), and it will happen eventually, sir. It promises to be piebald, also, when it transpires.
Happy Tune Tag anniversary! Tunnaversary? 🤩

Tune Taggaversary seems to trip off the tongue terrifically! Seedless to nay, thanks for everything, Andy! You were actually the very first current-iteration Tune Tag guest, in Tune Tag #2: https://bradkyle.substack.com/p/tune-tag-with-andy-of-the-vinyl-room

Tune Taggaversary it is!
You’re so right, I was! Even a greater honour. I’ll always be a proud Tune Tag ambassador! TuneTagassador? 😅
Thank you for the magic every Tuesday and for keeping that flame alive! I admire your hard work and dedication. You’re going places! 🥂🍻👏🏻
Muchas gracias!😊✨

Looking forward, Mark….and, thanks so much for your support, enthusiasm, and appreciation of the effort!
Congrats on 100! A weekly tradition. One of my first introductions to Substack proper. Hope you get 100 more, Brad!

Congrats on a hundo, bro. I haven't been in touch much lately, however I am still lurking:) Look forward to your next milestone!
