All I’m going to say is where the hell did I get that Keb’ Mo’ was from Texas? And how funny you thought Lisa Sawyer was doing a duet with Leon Bridges! Chinese whispers much? And yet, we managed to make it work, and, crucially, connect with the spirit of the songs we were sending each other. With no words! What a ride. Thanks again, Brad, for everything!!
I survived my first game of Tune Tag with a legend of music journalism, so that in itself is cause for celebration! 😅
Thanks, Andy.....you didn't even mention my gentle paw-tap on your back on the top gif!😸 I first thought Lisa was just going to be yet another new artist for me to learn about....like the Copeland family and Leon Bridges (and Rangzen in my searches)! This game pulls out the best of both players, and uses their musical strengths (and music memory), that's for sure!
Add to that the learning of new music and artists (as we both did this go-around), as well as the happy accidents that occur out of nowhere!
Readers should feel free to paw-tap either myself or Andy (I think I can safely speak on your behalf, here) for a rousing round of Tune Tag, themselves!
How could I omit the paw tap? I guess I got distracted thinking of Lisa Sawyer as support act at one of Keb' Mo's concerts in his fantasy homecoming concert in Texas! Also, what our readers should know (and, I think, the main reason why we both deserve a congratulatory tap on our backs) is that we did all this in record time, with minimal searches, off the top of our heads... pretty much winging it as we went along! Who needs amusement parks when we've got this game, eh? By the way, I heard Keb' Mo' loves Six Flags and can usually be spotted there when back home visiting his family :D
Good point on the process! Which makes me think, too, that this would make a cool party game, where the party-goers use the resident's record collection, only, to rifle thru possible songs'n'artists! Somebody call the good folks at Milton-Bradley (or, even Hasbro.....or, are they called "Has-bruh" these days?!)! I think we're on to something here! Holy pending copyright, Batman!

It’s seems like such a good game to play with a friend as a way to not just get to know their musical tastes but also get a little window into how their mind makes connections (musical connections anyway).
You betcha, Michael! I'd love to go back in time to the '70s, say, with my record collection (that I used to have😢), and a friend or a few for a party! Imagine playing this game with just the in-house record collection, only, as your trove from which to mine your connectible treasures! Find a song? Play it on the vic (as my dad used to call it!) for your buds! Tune Tag....it's not just for digital, anymore!

I know that probably sounds strange, but a lot of my introductions, and therefore nostalgia for songs of my youth, come from hearing the song first on a skate video... Which means I think I have a very random collection of preferences.

Hey Brad and Andres, I’m digging reading of your Tune Tag process. It’s a very cool way to collaborate, be creative and discover new music! Or rediscover old music. I’m slowly catching up to reading my backlog of newsletters, so apologies for lateness. I suppose it keeps the post in the proverbial limelight!
Thanks, Steve! You know you're more than welcome to send me and/or Andy a song to start a Tune Tag with each/both of us (could a 3-person Tune Tag Round Robin be far behind?!). I prefer receiving the first song, as I think it plays to my strengths....you can check with Andy on how you'd like to pursue it with him!
The good news is that this is all fairly low-labor-intensive. Just be sure you keep notes of why you choose your song (preferably in real time for each of the 4...more manageable than 5, we think)....it's easier than waiting to remember and write all at once on the back end. Anyway, feel free to send a song to me, if you'd like, any ole time!
I’ve been waiting until I had time to be able to sit down and enjoy the musical selections as I read the back and forth. This was fantastic once again! Really enjoyed the twists and turns on this one. And at the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with the Beatles - loved the eclectic selection of covers of their songs.
Looking forward to digging in the collective crates with you soon Brad!

Ah, The Beatles......a game could be played adding the challenge to NOT use them (or solo members) as a link.....just as much as it should follow that, in Tune Tag, The Beatles OUGHT to appear, if not dominate!
