Really, really liked this post! The CB Show was staple regularly scheduled watching when I was a kid in the 70s. CB, Vicky Lawrence, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman - absolute gold. The Gone with the Wind spoof when she makes a dress out of the curtains still sticks with me today. Genius. Thanks for the various video links, too! The John Foster Dulles song is fantastic!

Thanks, Bryan! As I usually do, I learned a ton, too! I'd never heard the "JFD" song, and the story about it was hilarious! When I saw, last week, that this Wednesday was her 90th, I immediately thought about her music. I knew she had sung before, and I thought I remembered albums in the racks of my record store in the late '70s, so I started my digging!

I'm glad I didn't stop at the audio links, and sure enough, there were plenty of YT vids available! Quite a lady, and quite a talent....not many people, I don't think, were aware of her vast musical output!

As someone who grew up watching the Carol Burnett Show, I loved this post. A trip down memory lane with someone who made us laugh every week. I will never ever forget the Gone with the Wind spoof, among other things. How great that she is still sharp and funny at 90, and doing roles in iconic TV shows. Very inspiring.

On her good friend, Lucy's, birthday (Aug 6, 1911), a perfect time to appreciate Carol! Another record store/late-'70s remembery, I seemed to recall several Broadway albums with her name on it....her music is an oft-forgotten part of her legacy....hence, the article! Long live Carol! Glad you liked, E.Z.!

Thanks, De! Sure, Carol's no Babs, and she'd be the first to admit it! But, she's got a winning personality, and like the other 90-year-old celebrating this week (Willie Nelson), it's that personality that transcends any possible vocal tonal shortcomings that makes us love them! Plus, they're still here! Kudos for that alone! And.....you're right about Julie!
