Marketing strategy meets local heroes, raising the question, "Should over-acting come with a sell-by date?" Answer: It's either this, or new Ad-Stros unis emblem-festooned like NASCAR participants.
Glad you like, Michael! Not sure where you live, but this is a decidedly Texas phenomenon, and I figured folks, even if baseball isn't in their particular wheelhouse, would find it curious and, hopefully, as funny as we do!
I love this kinda stuff, because athletes aren't trained actors (as Joe Namath and Terry Bradshaw, among many others, have shown us!), and the results can run the gamut, thankfully for us viewers, from mildly humorous to outrageously hilarious!
Any more than we'd expect Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, or Alec Baldwin to hit a curve, or throw a heater up and in! Although, frankly, I'd pay to see any of THAT!
Mariner’s country - but for me they’ve been gone since Dave Niehaus’ untimely passing. Back in the day the same sort of things with Griffey, Buhner, Dan Wilson and the the rest were common, and as campy but lovable as your Astros!
Cool!
